dōTERRA’s DDR Prime is a proprietary blend of Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils conveniently encapsulated in gelatin capsules to support healthy cellular response, repair, and regeneration. As we age, cellular renewal can be slow or be compromised by oxidative damage to cellular DNA. The essential oils in DDR Prime provide antioxidant protection and support a healthy response to cellular stressors.

During the 2013 doTERRA Convention a researcher from the University State University spoke about doTERRA DDR Prime and Cancer. Here are my notes from the conference:

1) Does DDR Prime actually kill cancer cells?

To find the question to this question, first they get and grow cancer cells in petri dishes then they treat the cancer cells with different concentrations of DDR Prime. Then they take pictures of the cells of the various times and concentrations. They found that yes! DDR Prime does kill cancer. It is easy to use on the pictures of the cancer cells compared to the control group. It can kill them in as little as 15 minutes. Some cells are harder to kill than others and require a higher concentration of DDR Prime.

2) Does DDR Prime protect cells from Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS)?

ROS damage the DNA, lipids and protein of our cells and they come from both inside and outside our body. We fight ROS with antioxidants, sunglasses and sunscreen. They found that DDR Prime concentrations of 1% protect the ROS significantly better than quercetin or the control group.

3) Does DDR Prime change proteins or expressions within the cell?

Our proteins are the workhorses of our cells. They all work in different locations and do different jobs. So they took some stomach cancer cells and treat them with DDR Prime. They treated the samples like they were in a stomach and digest the protein into smaller pieces. They use a Mass Spectrometer to measure the peptides and analyze the results in software. Then they can determine the status of the cells, like if they are ill, making repairs, protecting themselves or gearing up to move on. They haven’t finished their research in this area but think it will be exciting to see what happens.
